The Records Unit is generally the initial contact for most citizens and other agencies regarding agency related business matters. The Records Specialists serve in a support capacity for all units in the Police Department, as well as providing assistance to prosecutors, the courts, other law enforcement agencies, the public and government entities. Under the direction of the Assistant to the Chief of Police, the Records Unit is staffed with two Records Specialists.
Hours of Operation
- Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Closed Saturdays and Sundays
- Closed all government holidays
Responsibilities
- Processing reports, files, and court documents
- Providing support to the officers by maintaining and accurately entering missing persons and stolen property in the national database
- Processing Concealed Pistol Licenses (CPL) and gun transfers backgrounds
- Original CPL: $49.25
- Renewal CPL: $32.00
- Late Renewal CPL: $42.00
- Replacement CPL: $10.00
- Responding to public disclosure requests
- Providing crime data to the FBI and WA State
