City utility bills are available online

Easy ways to pay your utility bill

You can view your utility bill online, as early as the first day of each month.  No need to wait for the mail to be delivered, go to the City’s Utility Billing page and select pay online.

After you have accessed the online portal, follow these steps:

  1. Select: Pay Now (You can view your bill without paying or setting up an account)
  2. Enter your Account Number (Don’t have your account number, no problem! call Utility Billing at 509-865-2080)
  3. Enter your House Number (your house number must be 3 digits, if you have 2, add the next digit of your address like this: 21 W for 21 W 1st Avenue)
  4. Select:  Search Invoices
  5. Select:  View Invoice to the right of the bill you wish to view.

If you choose to pay by check or money order, remember to note your utility account number on your check.  You can pay at City Hall, use the drop box, or place in the mail, please allow up to 10 days for mail delivery of your payment to City Hall.

If you pay using your bank’s bill pay, please note your bank’s processing time.  It may take your bank 7-10 days to process your payment, and this does not include mailing time.

You can pay your utility bill by phone.   Call (877)217-8898

  1. Pay from Bank Account:  $.95 + $.95 phone charge = $1.90 total charge.
  2. Pay from Credit Card: $4.50 + $.95 phone charge = $5.45 total charge.
  3. Enter your Account Number ( Enter your account number like this: 99999 to represent account number 999.99 or like this: 9999 for 999.9)

You can set up an online account.  With an online account you can decide how you receive your utility bill AND decide how you would like to pay your utility bill. Go to the City’s Utility Billing page and select register now.

After you have accessed the online portal, follow these steps:

  1. Select Register Now.
  2. Enter your Account Number (Don’t have your account number, no problem! call Utility Billing at 509-865-2080.)
  3. Enter your House Number (your house number must be 3 digits, if you have 2, add the next digit of your address like this: 21 W for 21 W 1st Avenue)
  4. Check invoice.
  5. Select Register Customer at the bottom of the page.
  6. Enter and confirm your e-mail address.
  7. Create and confirm a password.
  8. Welcome to your Account! 

After you have your online account set up:

You can set up automatic payments: There is a charge of $.95 for linking to a bank account or a $4.50 charge for credit card use.

You can choose to receive your utility bill electronically via email:  Get it fast for NO charge.

You can choose to pay by text:  There is a $4.50 fee for text payments (stop anytime by texting HELP)
